Inspiring Bauhaus — An homage to the timeless design ideology
Another collage of some of our designs that reference the influential Bauhaus movement. Here is our White Bauhaus Trolley, Bauhaus Archive poster and our Archi Sculpture.
Inspired by BauhausThis year we celebrate 100 years of Bauhaus, a German school of design founded by architect Walter Gropius. Run as an art school from 1919-1933, the design movement redefined artistic creativity and lead Walter Gropius, Josef Albers etc. to iconic designs that combined functionality with a focus on simplicity and bold, modern shapes. Despite its very short run, the design movement – to this day - continues to inspire designers around the world within the fields of graphic, interior and industrial design. At Kristina Dam Studio, Bauhaus is also a very important source of inspiration, in particular the aesthetics of Gropius and Albers. In CEO Kristina Dam’s own words: “The Bauhaus movement has a lot of the same values that I base my designs on –these incredibly simple shapes because of their honest lines. And what is really fascinating is that the designs from the Bauhaus era are still to this very day something you want to look at –they are timeless”
