Carlsberg Byen

Kim Grenaa of Grenaa Creative handled the interior design of one apartment, featuring bright spaces, concrete floors, oak panels, and steel-and-marble kitchens. The decor includes a curated selection of Kristina Dam Studio’s designs, perfectly complementing the apartment’s materials.

Since 1847, Carlsberg has had production and headquarters in the Copenhagen area, known as Carlsberg Byen. In 2006, Carlsberg moved their production from Copenhagen to Fredericia, which opened up new exciting opportunities in Carlsberg Byen, where they have worked to transform the area into Copenhagen's new urban district with housing, urban spaces, shops, institutions, city life, culture and business premises.
In the historic surroundings is the 1920s Mineralvandsfabrikken, one of the few listed buildings that have been converted into housing. International star architect Dorte Mandrup is behind the new two-storey luxury homes on top of the beautiful, newly renovated industrial property.

The architecture and materials of the apartment is the obvious setting for Kristina Dam Studio, where the common thread in all designs is simple and graphic. Furniture from Kristina Dam Studio is all made of natural and solid materials, and only the monochrome colour palette or the natural colour of the materials is used. The Bauhaus table with the Collector chair perfectly complements the apartment's materials, and the Modernist sofa brings tactility to the living room and the beautiful oak panels.
